The configurations vary from printing only in front of a fully configured system with front/back printing, lamination and 500 card output hopper.

The SMART 70 series can use the network server to print and encode cards. The SMART Ethernet module has the OCP (Open Card Print) protocol that can encode and print cards using commands on multiple platforms without installing printer drivers.
The SMART 70 Series can encrypt data transmitted on USB and can support SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol on Ethernet communications.
