Main features of the new cards:

Ecological: Produced with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper, a brend that promotes proper forest management worldwide according to strict environmental, social, economic standards and is supported by Greenpeace, WWF and Amnesty International.

Captivating: High perceived value thanks to the extraordinary quality.

Functional: Fully compliant with ISO standards.

Compatibility with printers

The cards need a particular black ribbon to be personalized, the BLACKFLEX code RCT019NAA and for this reason they can only be used with Evolis printers.

To further reduce the impact on the environment, it is recommended to use the article with code C2501 which uses the least impact.

*To use the BLACKFLEX ribbon with Edikio Flex it is necessary to upgrade the printer firmware.

What about standard PVC cards?

Paper cards do not replace PVC card which today do not have a similar product that can replace them in some specific applications such as payment cards, government or student cards.

At the moment only the PVC cards are able to guarantee at the same time safety, durability combined with visual and technological identification.

There are other types of plastic card on the market called "Bio" which can be of various materials, sometimes recycled and it is therefore increasingly common to hear about bioplastics, biodegradable materials and compostability.

According to a study published by the German Federal Environment Agency, biodegradable plastic offers no environmental advantage over traditional plastic. The reason? According to German research, plastics, although biodegradable, do not end up in adequate composting systems but are disposed of in landfills and dept in dry places that actually inhibit biodegradation.
